Serendipity · crossed paths

Your lives overlap more than you know.

Pair with anyone — your best friend, or someone you met an hour ago — and Proximitii compares your two histories on the spot: the same show, the same street, the same Tuesday café. Sometimes from years before you ever met.

Crossed Paths results showing shared places and moments between two people.

One QR, one scan

It starts face to face: one of you shows a code, the other scans it. That's the whole ritual — and it's why nobody can ever run a check on you from across town.

Before you met

The best ones predate the meeting. That festival in 2023? You were both there, forty feet apart, years before you'd ever exchange names.

The lore keeps

Results are saved as snapshots you can reopen — the growing, private record of how often the world almost introduced you.

The fine print, plainly
  • Works between any two people — friendship optional. It might be the best first-five-minutes move in the app: meet someone, scan, find out the world already introduced you twice.
  • Both histories stay private — only the overlaps are revealed, to the two of you and no one else.
  • Hidden zones and homes never appear in a crossed path. The places that are nobody's business stay nobody's business.
  • Import your camera roll's location metadata and your history reaches back years — so crossed paths can too. Photos never leave your phone; only the where and when.
  • Nothing is posted, ranked, or shared. The opposite of a feed.
Can someone run Crossed Paths on me without my knowledge?+
No. A check is an in-person handshake — one phone shows a QR code, the other scans it, with both of you standing right there. There's no remote lookup and no silent check, and only the overlaps are ever revealed, never your full history.
Do we have to be friends on the app first?+
No — any two people can pair and run a check. It's how plenty of friendships on Proximitii start: the check comes first, the friend request after.
How far back does it go?+
As far as your histories reach. Proximitii builds history from the day you join — and the photo import can extend your map years into the past using only the location metadata already on your photos.
